Reconditioned
Here at Ron's our reconditioned transmissions are assembled with the finest parts available. At Ron's we receive update bulletins on every make and model monthly to make sure our transmissions exceed expectations. Vehicles are diagnosed before any work is done, to be sure we fix not only the problem, but also the cause! Usually after the diagnostics a written estimate can be given depending on the vehicle. After we receive an ok from the customer, the transmission will be pulled, disassembled, then reconditioned. Also a rebuilt torque converter will be installed with automatic transmissions. The customer will also receive a 20 point check list that informs of any problems with the vehicle other than the transmission. We have many different warranty options to suit your needs. A 16 month 16,000 mile local warranty, A 2year 24,000 mile local warranty or a 3year 75,000 mile NATIONWIDE warranty accompanies automatic transmissions. Standard transmissions have a 6-month warranty. The whole process takes about three to four working days.
Bench Jobs
Bench jobs or carry ins are accepted however labor will not be covered under warranty. The customer will be responsible for flushing cooler lines to keep any metal still in the radiator from entering the reconditioned transmission. Bench jobs must also be brought back for a test drive to insure proper installation.
Clutch Jobs
Ron's Transmissions only uses LuK Clutches <http://www.luk.de/english/index.html>. Clutches come in a complete kit, including: clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing. Some even include the slave cylinder! Once the transmission and old clutch is removed the flywheel gets resurfaced to eliminate chatter or slipping. Vehicles with hydraulic clutch systems are checked and components are replaced if there is any question of leaking or failure. Luk Clutches have a 1year 12000 mile nation wide warranty. Labor is warranted for 90 days.
Miscellaneous
